Still singled out - but not as bitter

In 2004, while trying not to get too depressed about being single for my 22nd Valentine's Day, I picked up a pen and started to write. These words escalated into the first of a series of columns, charting my love life and that of those around me. I am inspired by everyone around me, and it's not uncommon for friends or acquaintances to rightly link themselves to an anonymous character in one of my scenarios.I soon found that I had barmen, bona fide adults and complete strangers telling me they looked forward to the next issue, to catch up with the whirlwind romantic adventures and traumas. Two years to the day I started Singled Out I decided to call it a day - still single, but not as demented by this fact as I was when I began. I'm not promising anything, but you never can tell when that pen may be picked up again.
